Arranging Port Numbers to the Micro service Architecture

For a microservices architecture with 10 repositories, you can assign port numbers to each service by setting a unique port for each one. Here’s a general approach:

1.Port Range Planning: Decide on a specific range for the service ports, especially if your system has other services running (e.g., 5000–5100).

2.Consistent Pattern: For easier management, assign ports in an incremental order, like starting from 5000 and going up:
• Service 1: 5000
• Service 2: 5001
• Service 3: 5002
• …

3.Docker & Kubernetes: If you are using Docker or Kubernetes, you can map each service’s internal port to a host port. For example:
• In Docker: docker run -p 5000:5000 service1
• In Kubernetes, use a Service object to expose each pod on a unique port.

4.Environment Configuration: Define the ports in configuration files or environment variables. This makes it easier to change ports without modifying the codebase.

5.Service Discovery: For larger systems, consider a service discovery tool (like Consul or Eureka) that automatically manages port assignments and routing.
