AI systems are already describing your product to buyers.

Not in search results — in answers.

If that representation is wrong, you lose deals you never see:

This is very real. I noticed this with my tools site too — sometimes AI mentions it, but describes it as “SEO tools only,” even though it has many other utilities.

What helped me was making my homepage and category pages very clear and specific. After that, AI answers started describing it more accurately.

Homepage structure changes are one of the highest-leverage moves we've seen.
Short answer: a clear, consistent one-liner on your homepage that defines what you are and what you replace gets picked up by AI models surprisingly fast.

We scanned 35 SaaS products across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. The pattern was stark:

# Plausible Analytics (9.3/10) "Simple, privacy-focused Google Analytics
alternative." That exact phrase appears on their homepage, README, docs, and every blog post. All 4 models repeat it with confidence.
# Aptabase (2.4/10) Similar mission (privacy-focused app analytics), but the
messaging wasn't consistent across surfaces. Firebase gets every answer instead.

The difference wasn't brand size or funding. It was saying the same thing everywhere.

Your experience with the "SEO tools only" mislabeling is a perfect example — AI models synthesize across sources, and if your homepage says one thing but older blog posts or directory listings say another, the model picks the loudest signal (which isn't always the right one).

That makes a lot of sense. I actually realized the same thing recently.

Earlier my homepage headline was more generic, and AI often picked the wrong positioning. After I changed it to clearly say “100+ free online tools for daily tasks — no login,” the descriptions started becoming more accurate.

It’s interesting how AI seems to trust the clearest and most repeated sentence.

One thing I’m still curious about — do category pages also act as strong signals, or does the homepage carry most of the weight?

Category pages absolutely carry signal especially when they're structured around a specific job-to-be-done rather than just a tool list.

The rough hierarchy we see across scans:

  1. Homepage one-liner (highest weight models treat it as the canonical identity)
  2. Category pages with a clear "this is for X who needs Y" framing
  3. External mentions that echo the same language (README, directories, community posts)

Category pages that win tend to have one sentence that says what the category "IS" and who it's "FOR" not just a list of features. If that sentence matches your homepage framing, the signal compounds.

For your site specifically "100+ free online tools for daily tasks" is strong for the homepage, but I'd be curious whether your individual category pages (SEO, image tools, etc.) Each have their own clear one-liner or if they rely on the homepage to do all the positioning work.

That’s really helpful insight. And yes — currently most of my category pages are still more tool-list focused, not “job-to-be-done” focused with a clear one-liner.

After fixing the homepage positioning, I saw improvement, but now it makes sense that category pages can compound that signal even more if each one clearly defines:

what that category is
who it’s for
and what problem it solves

I think this is probably the next big gap for AllInOneTools.

I’d definitely be interested to see the scan results — especially to understand:

• which conversations currently mention the site
• where the positioning is still weak or missing
• and which specific category signals are not being picked up

Because from what I’ve seen, small wording changes can have a surprisingly big impact on how AI represents the product.
