When I first joined this community, I noticed how many developers are deep into other developers experience or tutorials on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. While those are important fundamentals, I believe spending too much time mastering every detail is not the fastest path to becoming a strong developer.
Here’s why:
Real projects are the best classroom
Every company and project has its own structure, naming conventions, and workflows. No matter how well you know CSS or JavaScript, when you join a team you’ll have to adapt to their rules. The real value is in understanding fundamentals and applying them effectively in a new context.
E.g, API request formats vary from project to project (fetch, axios), and there are significant differences in many aspects, such as loading external CSS and naming conventions.AI is changing the game
I'm not sure if you're aware, but with the advent of new AI tools, frontend and static site development has become much easier, and new technologies and methods are being created at an explosive rate every day.
With tools like Lovable.dev, Base 44, even non developers are building frontends. Frameworks are evolving at lightning speed (Laravel 12, React 19…), and it’s impossible to “master” them all. Instead, the most important skill today is the ability to learn quickly, adapt, and deliver solutions that align with business goals.
E.g, for my current project, the client built the frontend themselves using an AI tool called Lovable.dev, and I incorporated their UI into my project.
In fact, as you develop, you'll realize that the stack isn't that important. The stack matters less than understanding the client’s needs and building something meaningful. Sites with the same functionality can be created in many different ways , so the technology is just the vehicle.
That’s why I encourage anyone with a basic understanding of web development to start building real projects right now. You’ll learn more, grow faster, and build the skills companies actually value.
👉 I’m looking to collaborate with junior developers who want to accelerate their learning through real-world projects. If you’re tired of tutorials and ready to code something meaningful, let’s connect and build together.
