For some reason that it is still a mystery to me, my Powershell accepts copy and paste with Crtl+C + Crtl+V. I didn't understand well the integration with GitHub you mentioned. Installing Git you can do everything you said on Powershell and CMD without problems, right?
There's an option, when installing Git for Windows, that allows Git for Windows to install bash-like aliases to PowerShell and cmd. So if you installed Git for Windows with that option enabled, it adds things like ls and cd to PowerShell and cmd.
