Today, I attended an insightful expert session where we were introduced to the basics of MongoDB and how to set up our development environment. We began by creating our Dev.to accounts, a platform that encourages developers to share their learning experiences and technical blogs. After that, we moved on to installing MongoDB Compass, a graphical user interface that allows us to visually interact with our MongoDB databases. Once installed, we created our MongoDB account and connected it with Compass, allowing us to explore clusters, databases, and collections easily!!Next, we created our database in MongoDB Atlas, the cloud version of MongoDB. After logging in, I set up a new project and cluster, then created a database with a collection to store data.
I then inserted a document into my collection. It was simple — I added key-value pairs using the “Insert Document” option, and the data appeared instantly in my database.
Next, I created a temporary user in MongoDB Atlas with access for 6 hours.
