Finding Topics to Sell Notion Template

The first step is always challenging. If you figure out the first step then the rest of the journey will be a lot easier. In the selling notion template, it's the topic on which you want to create your template. The answer to such a question is simple you create what you are passionate about, and what you know. This is so simple that you won't find any topics or will create something that is generally available. We need a better understanding of this. So, let’s look into some methods that will help you in finding topics:

  • Find a niche: Don’t go for general topics, find a niche to create. For instance, I write a technical blog that is general to most developers. But my first notion template was for Web Developers specific. This will lower your audience but impact the right kind of people with a good chance of converting.

  • Notionable: Topics need to be notionable that is you can build that in notion. For instance, a page with information can be made in PDF ebooks as it won’t use many features of Notion. While something that uses the notion’s key features will be a better option.

  • Inspiration: You can explore the notion templates for getting inspiration. You can look into some of that to find things that are missing or lacking. You can add those features to your templates. This can be your selling point such as the Finance Tracker with different table views.

  • Do what you like: Yeah, I am saying this as your knowledge and passion will create a better notion template. In the end, if you love doing what you do then there is more chance that it will be a better product.

Creating Notion Template and Getting Initial Feedback

Once you put a lock on the topics then it will be time for creating the notion template. As I said, try to add key features of the notion in your template. Once you created your notion template, the first step is to get initial feedback. We love the product that we create and sometimes overlook the detailing that is required. So, having a second look is essential. You can ask your friends, family or colleagues for it. You can also DM someone for feedback that uses Notion or knows about it. After getting feedback, as usual work on it and improve it. You don’t have to be in a loop for asking for feedback and working on it. A maximum of 2 times will be enough as you can also work on it after launch. After building a satisfying draft, it would be time to launch the product.

Launching the Notion Template for Selling

Before launching the product, you should create a video or article explaining the template. It will also serve as a demo of your product. Now about launching, If you have your website then it will be a good place to launch. But at the same time, you have to implement the landing page, payment, review, and product delivery features. You can also launch your product on other platforms that will take care of everything but they take a small chunk of your payment.

There are platforms like GumRoad and Prototion that will help you in launching and selling the product. But they have a high percentage for commission, 20% for Prototion, and 10% for GumRoad.
