Hi, I'm Sarah. Three years ago, post college graduation, I made the switch from veterinary medicine to software development. Given my family history in tech, I guess I was always destined to be a part of this community no matter how hard I tried to deny. At last, here I am.
5 months ago someone at my current job sent an article from dev.to. It has been my favorite site to scroll through while riding the train. I want to give back to the community and support others the way these articles have helped me. @aspittel posted an article about algorithms that I really enjoyed and then I saw her personal website - wow! So fun, creative, inspiring.
I'm on a journey of creating my own personal brand, Downward-Facing Tech (Downwardfacingtech.com), under the alias Tech-Yogi. I am constantly learning about new things in both tech and general well-being, which I think a lot of people in this industry can benefit from. I have a lot to learn in the dev world, and excited to share experiences and learn from others on dev.to.
I was brought into this land as a backend developer focused on C#, .Net, Entity Framework, MVC. After crossing the seas and expanding my horizons, I am currently a full-stack developer, dabbling/drowning/flourishing in JavaScript/React and all things UI. I am interested in strengthening my front-end skills with React and getting some experience with Elixir and NodeJs... and I need a lot of help solving interview algorithm problems.
