I spent today watching 40 viral Instagram reels in the AI/tech/make-money niche.
Not casually watching. Forensically analyzing: account names, like counts, comment counts, visual formats, hook formulas, captions, and CTAs.
Here's what I found. The numbers surprised me.
The Comment/Like Ratio Is the Real Signal
Most people track likes. That's the wrong metric.
Comments ÷ likes tells you something more important: whether your CTA is working.
Here's the data:
| Creator | Hook | Likes | Comments | Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| @dexter.copilot | "POV: you built Jarvis" | 183K | 46K | 0.25x |
| @purelyprofit.jm | "AI is the new gold rush" | 52.9K | 21K | 0.40x |
| @timkoda_ | VS Code file tree | 2.3K | 6.9K | 2.93x |
| @sabrina_ramonov | Terminal + talking head | 4.5K | 10.3K | 2.31x |
| @nicola.ai | Split screen + pitch | 2.7K | 5.9K | 2.18x |
Notice something? The accounts with the HIGHEST comment-to-like ratio have FEWER total views — but their comments far exceed their likes.
That means their CTA is working. People are taking action.
The #1 Growth Mechanism: ManyChat Comment Automation
Every single high-performing post in my sample uses a variation of this:
"Comment [KEYWORD] and I'll DM you [VALUE]"
- @timkoda_: "Comment TRAIN to get my STYLE TRAINING SYSTEM"
- @sabrina_ramonov: "Comment ANIMATION and follow me to get my..."
- @dexter.copilot: "Comment Dexter if you need this too"
- @purelyprofit.jm: "Follow & Comment AI to get started"
- @nicola.ai: "Comment AI to get my full STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE"
When someone comments the keyword, ManyChat automatically DMs them the resource.
Here's why this creates a flywheel:
- Comments = engagement signal to Instagram/YouTube algorithm
- More algorithm push = more views
- More views = more comments
- Repeat
The comment is the conversion, not just the click. It's genius.
5 Visual Formats That Actually Work (Ranked)
Format 1: Dark IDE / Terminal Full Screen
Comment ratio: 2.93x | Example: @timkoda_
Show your VS Code project. File tree. CLAUDE.md. .mcp.json. Let people read your actual code.
The code IS the content.
People pause to read, which inflates watch time. They want the code, so they comment.
Talking head: 0% of frame
Code/terminal: 100% of frame
CTA: keyword pill overlay
Format 2: Terminal + Talking Head PIP
Comment ratio: 2.31x | Example: @sabrina_ramonov
Terminal or code editor fills the top 60-70% of the frame. Your face appears in the bottom 30-40%.
The code is readable. Your face adds credibility.
@sabrina_ramonov got 10.3K comments showing her actual Claude Code + Remotion pipeline. The code was her proof of value.
Format 3: Split Screen Attention Borrow
Comment ratio: 2.18x | Example: @nicola.ai
Top 60%: viral/interesting footage (reaction bait)
Bottom 40%: your pitch
You borrow the attention of viral content and redirect it to your offer.
Format 4: Proof Screen Recording
Raw reach king | Example: @purelyprofit.jm (52.9K likes)
Record your laptop screen showing results. Comments flooding in. Revenue growing. Views going up.
You in background. Hand pointing at screen.
Single word text overlays: "POSSIBLY" / "LOOK" / "WAIT"
Format 5: POV Atmospheric Setup
Absolute raw numbers | Example: @dexter.copilot (183K likes, 46K comments)
Dark room. RGB keyboard. AI running on screen.
No face. No talking. Just vibes + the word "POV".
"POV: you built Jarvis to run your life"
183,000 people liked that. 46,000 commented.
Hook Formulas That Consistently Work
POV framing:
- "POV: you built an AI to run your business"
- "POV: your AI makes $X while you sleep"
Math hooks:
- "Claude + Kling = 300 videos per day"
- "I built this in 14 minutes. 2,736 people paid $15. Do the math."
Fear/opportunity:
- "Huge day for [target audience]"
- "AI is the new gold rush..."
- "I shouldn't be telling you this..."
Controversy:
- "how to STEAL CONTENT (LEGALLY)"
- "Why your content isn't going viral (and it's not your fault)"
The Sabrina Ramonov Pipeline (Stolen From Her Reel)
@sabrina_ramonov literally showed her entire production pipeline in a single reel frame. Here's what was visible:
STEP 1 – TRANSCRIBE & PLAN
Use Whisper to transcribe avatar.mp4
Identify 3-5 segments with timestamps
Propose overlay graphic for each segment above head
STEP 2 – BUILD
Base: Avatar video 1080x1920, no cropping
Overlays safe zone: 150px from top, 170px from bottom
Side margins: 60px minimum
Font sizes: Headlines 56px+, Body 36px+, Labels 20px+
The pipeline: HeyGen avatar → Whisper transcription → Claude Code prompt → Remotion renders animated overlays.
This is now my production target.
The Claude + Kling = 300 Videos/Day Formula
@theorganicwiz showed this in a single frame that got 5,485 likes and 5,903 comments:
Claude + Kling = 300 videos per day
How it works:
- Claude generates UGC scripts for any product
- Kling AI generates real-looking video of people using the product
- Auto-upload across platforms
Kling AI has a public API. pip install kling-api. Text-to-video, image-to-video, 9:16 vertical format supported.
This is the automation ceiling: Claude thinks → Kling renders → upload bot posts.

Simple. Automated. Scalable.
What I'm Changing Starting Today
- ManyChat: Setting up keyword comment automation on every post
- Format shift: Dark IDE/terminal format, code visible, CTA overlay
- Hook formula: "Huge day for [audience]" and "POV: you built..."
- Kling integration: Testing Claude → Kling pipeline for AI video generation
- Remotion overlays: Animated overlays on HeyGen avatar videos
The game is comment CTAs + ManyChat automation. That's the meta right now.
