From Blueprints to Battlegrounds: My Experience as a Cybersecurity Intern at Anonymous India

The jump from building tools in a home lab to working within a professional security framework is a significant one. After spending a year focusing on threat intelligence, SOC analysis, and founding Sudo Security, I recently completed my internship at Anonymous India.

This experience wasn't just about adding a line to my resume; it was about testing my "Nightshade" research methodology against real-world challenges. Here is a breakdown of what I learned, the tech I used, and why practical experience is the ultimate teacher.

The Shift: Moving Beyond the Home Lab
In my personal projects, like developing the Pentest Arsenal or building log analyzers, the environment is controlled. You know what kind of "attack" is coming because you’re often the one simulating it.

At Anonymous India, that luxury disappears. The primary shift was moving from vibe coding—where you build features based on what feels right—to systematic defense. I had to align my technical skills with organizational goals, ensuring that every script I wrote in Python or every dashboard I conceptualized had a clear, functional purpose for the team.

Technical Deep Dive: The Toolkit
During my time as an intern, I focused heavily on the "behind the scenes" research that keeps an organization secure.

  • Threat Intelligence & Analysis: I spent a significant amount of time analyzing potential vectors. This involved moving beyond basic vulnerability scanning to understanding the intent and patterns of modern digital threats.

  • Automation: I utilized Python to automate repetitive data gathering tasks. In cybersecurity, speed is a defensive asset; if you can automate the identification of a known signature, you free up your brain for more complex problem-solving.

  • Blue Teaming Mentality: While many are drawn to the "hacking" side of security, my internship reinforced my passion for the Blue Team. Defending an infrastructure requires a much deeper understanding of how systems actually interact under pressure.

The Path Ahead
This internship has been a vital chapter in my journey. It has refined my vision for Sudo Security and solidified my commitment to the cybersecurity research space.
A huge thank you to the team at Anonymous India for the mentorship and the opportunity to contribute to the mission. Now, it’s back to the lab to turn these insights into even better defensive tools.
