I use Google Slides to make all of lecture content and I make tech talks twice a month.

I have some gripes with Google Slides and an open-source Slide Editor/Present sounds awsome.

I don't know know if DeckDeckGo will meet my use-case because I need fine-tune control over my elements but I will check out the project when I get a moment.

The biggest part for me would be leveraging an api to programmatically reorganize and have analytics my slides. This might sound silly but if you saw how much content I produce you'd understand that I need to create pivot tables and manually enter in the state of my slides in a pipeline.

Thank you for the super interesting feedback @andrewbrown

I would love to hear your thoughts if you could take a couple of minutes to try out our editor (I'll send you the info per pm)

About fine-tuning I would say that right now it may probably not match your expectations but we have a vision about it and it may be actually exactly what you are looking for πŸ˜‰

Moreover, offering an Api at some point in the future is also in our plan. We have spoken with my colleague about this a couple of times already. Might also not be tomorrow but, as a developer, it is also something we would love to have.
