Best domain for student developer?

Hey, I have been using Netlify as hosting service for my portfolio and other projects. (BTW, check out my portfolio here.)
But I don't like when netlify.app is added after my websites.
Can you suggest me some really good and affordable hosting services?
Also, I'm looking for a domain. Which domain would you suggest which looks professional and doesn't cost much?

Firebase, domain is: .web.app
Or freenom, domain is .cf, .tk, .ml,... (free first-year, after that, is $18)
Or if you have an account GitHub Student Developer, that has many promotions for the domain, visit it: education.github.com/pack
Very easy to register Github Student Developer if you have an email education

How much is Netlify’s own custom domain name mapping cost? I think it is anyway free for open source apps. Because I used them in past to map https redirects.

There are many TLD you can buy for very cheap. .io, .xyz, .wtf, .dev, .me all sound perfect for personal projects. Once you buy the one that you like you can configure netlify to point to it instead of netlify.app docs.netlify.com/domains-https/cus...

Tuttutor.com is for sale (only $5000 - negotiable). Contact me (martineboh@gmail.com). You can build cool MOOC or online learning apps like Udemy.com with it. I actually abandoned the project halfway.

I think spending on high value domain is the past, today many top level domain exists and apart from that, google search has made Domain names obsolete as most of us use words to search on google to get to website. Or we search fir an app on app stores, both of them are not linked with domain in anyway.

Also a wrongly named domain has no value for that price.

At that price, I would opt for another domain name, a mac book pro, hire some interns and start my own business. :D

NameCheap is good because the first year is 1 dollar for most domains. Avoid GoDaddy like the plague. That is for purchasing a domain, for hosting your site Vercel makes it really easy to add a domain to your site.

.xyz is the cheapest across the board but can be kind of ugly. .dev and .me are great for portfolios, and you can't go wrong with the good old .com but those are generally more expensive.

eh xyz looks ugly. He should go for one of those 2/3/5 dollar domains if cheap, or .io or .dev works fine.

If you're looking for something professional and free, I like Google's Firebase hosting which gives you the domain [project name].web.app. I'm not sure what the limits are but I think they're pretty generous

It's really personal preference, but I suggest having a look at '.tech' domains. get.tech/
