Lighter font weight in code editors - yay or nay?

Many code-oriented monospaced fonts looks 'bold' by default compared to your regular fonts. I've recently switched to Cascadia Mono SemiLight and kind of dig it, it feels easier to pick up different code tokens than with the regular weight.

Anyone else is using lighter versions of this or other fonts?

I think lighter weight monospaced fonts can look nice, but for me personally, they're harder to read in certain colors. I stick to the regular weight fonts so I'm not straining to read color-coded text.
