Suppose listening and logic would apply here. Not sure if I could say it's purely "active listening" as I think there's an organic tuning-in/out that humans do. But an attempt to listen to understand, that's pretty good. Figuring out if you're being communicated with to gain knowledge or explore ideas is pretty important. And if it's to explore ideas, figuring out if you're being asked for solutions or being an open-ear is a good one too.
Outside of that I've got nothing.
