As a developer how do you create and send emails?

As a developer, we often have to create and send HTML emails.

How do you create them? Where do you get email inspirations? Do you test on different email clients?

I use MJML to code HTML Emails ( easier to write ). To test on different clients I use Testi.at ( more affordable then litmus)
