Building a professional profile online?

Hi all,

Currently undertaking a Software Development & IT apprenticeship (24 months) and I wanted to start building a professional profile online for networking. I'm currently acting as a QA Analyst on a project but I'm learning PHP in my spare time; most of our in-house solutions are built with PHP and Laravel. I also assist with the internal first line issues for other employees within the company.

Any advice on connecting with other people in the industry and building a solid professional presence?
