This topic close to my heart. In the past, I have few failed attempts in starting a developer centered websites in our native language (Malay). I don't think that because of no demand for technical content in Malay, but more to our failure in being consistent putting up the content and marketing it. One of the reason is that writing technical content in Malay is challenging, due to lack of proper terms we can use, so it always end up with us with question such as how do we call "peer-to-peer" or "distributed database" in Malay, etc. So in the end, most of us just gave up and write in English.

But a linguist friend than argue that problem is also caused by our lack of knowledge in the Malay language itself. Most Malay speaker these days no longer exposed to old Malay literatures which has vast of vocabulary that can be reused to express modern scientific term in English.

I still not giving up in writing technical content in Malay. Wandering around in local groups in FB and Telegram, I know there's still a demand for technical writing in our native language. And having that I think can still help some people out there to bootstrap their journey in this dev land.
