3 IT Support Case Note – Monitor / USB / Keyboard Troubleshooting

As part of my self-training process in the IT support field, I’ve started to record and publish troubleshooting cases that I simulate and solve. The purpose is to improve both my technical skills and bilingual IT documentation practice in German and Turkish. Here are three real-life support scenarios I recently worked on.

Im Rahmen meines Selbststudiums im Bereich IT-Support habe ich begonnen, Fehlerbehebungsfälle zu dokumentieren und zu veröffentlichen, die ich simuliere und löse. Ziel ist es, sowohl meine technischen Fähigkeiten als auch meine zweisprachige IT-Dokumentationspraxis auf Deutsch und Türkisch zu verbessern. Hier sind drei reale Support-Szenarien, an denen ich kürzlich gearbeitet habe.

Senaryo 1: USB Stick Not Recognized

Problem:
USB stick not detected by PC.

Actions Taken:

  • Changed USB port
  • Tried on another PC (worked fine)
  • Updated drivers via Device Manager
  • Removed & reconnected device in Device Manager

Result:

USB port of the first PC was faulty. Recommended repair.

Senaryo 2: Monitor – No Signal Issue

Problem:
The monitor was not displaying any image.

Actions Taken:

  • Checked cable connection
  • Tried a different cable
  • Tested on another PC
  • Updated GPU drivers

Result:

The VGA output of the original PC was defective. Monitor worked fine on other PCs.

Senaryo 3: Keyboard Keys Not Working

Problem:
Some keys on the keyboard not responding.

Actions Taken:

  • Cleaned keyboard
  • Tested on different USB port
  • Tried on another PC
  • Plugged a new keyboard

Result:

Defective keyboard, replaced.
