Hey there! đ
If you've been thinking about getting into web development, this post is just for you. Consider it an open invitationâa Q&A post where you can ask me anything about getting started in web dev. Whether youâre confused, curious, overwhelmed, or just exploring, Iâve been thereâand I get it.
But first, let me walk you through the beginner phase⊠because thatâs where all the real questions begin.
đ§ âWhere do I even start?â
This is the most common questionâand rightly so. The world of web development feels like a vast ocean. Do I start with HTML? JavaScript? Should I learn React from day one? Is Python also needed? What is even a full stack?!
Hereâs the truth:
Start with HTML. Then CSS. Then JavaScript.
Everything else builds on top of that. These three are the foundationâthe soil. Frameworks like React or Vue? Theyâre the plants that grow after youâve understood the soil.
đ âI feel dumb. Everyone else seems to get it.â
Let me stop you right there. If youâve ever felt stuck writing a basic function, or you stared at a piece of CSS that just wouldnât center your textâyouâre doing it right. Thatâs how learning works. We stumble, we scratch our heads, we rage-quit a few times⊠and then one day, it clicks.
So no, youâre not dumb.
Youâre just learning. And thatâs brave.
𧰠âWhat tools do I need?â
Another great question I get often. You really donât need a fancy setup. Hereâs what I used when I started (and still do):
- VS Code â Free code editor (a blessing)
- Chrome Developer Tools â For checking your website live
- Git + GitHub â For version control (and for impressing recruiters)
- FreeCodeCamp / MDN Web Docs / YouTube â For free learning resources
You donât need a MacBook, a paid course, or expensive software. You just need curiosity and consistency.
đ© âI donât know how to finish a project.â
This one hits hard.
You start a to-do app⊠then a portfolio⊠and thenâpoof. Motivation fades. You jump to another project. Same thing.
Here's what helped me:
Donât try to build the perfect project. Build something functional. Break it down. Focus on getting the basics working. Donât add animations or dark mode or AI chatbots on day one.
Done is better than perfect.
đŹ âIs it too late to start?â
No. No. No.
Youâre not too old, too late, too slow, or too behind.
Youâre on your own timelineâand if you start today, youâll already be ahead of where you were yesterday.
So, Ask Me Anything
In the comments, replies, or messagesâdrop your questions.
Whether it's:
- "Whatâs the best roadmap?"
- "How do I stay consistent?"
- "How do I deal with imposter syndrome?"
- "Can I learn while doing a job?"
Iâm here. Iâll answer every one of them honestlyâjust like I wish someone had done for me when I started.
This isnât a âguruâ post. Iâm not some Silicon Valley coder sipping matcha in a tech hub. Iâm just someone who struggled, learned, built messy projects, and slowly figured things out.
You can too.
