I love being on a remote team. However, I think managing a remote team is more challenging than managing a team that works in one office. I can't really imagine doing it without the right tools (my team uses kanbantool.com/ , I highly recommend it). I think providing the team with the necessary technology is one of the most important aspects of an effective team management.
