"If the design on left has more premium ketchup inside it, wouldn't users care about the hassle and jump the hurdles to get to the value?" No, not by a Longshot, if the cost is making a mess all around.

And that's kindof the thing. The oversimplification and lack of context in most debates online transpires even here.

"it's either one or the other" is the attitude of the lazy. It can be both and it should.
I would go as far as making aestethics a subset of UX because the "experience" part depends on your target audience and it can be very well that your target prizes looks over function. In which case the experience for them would be a more listed subset which aims at aestethics.
But this will NEVER be pointed out via analogies. The analogy asks me, a technical person who develops these things. I've seen a lot of situations but these situations allow me to find a solution for a requirement, not to substitute a subjective decision. I should get to know my current/future audience, not substitute my past audiences which are certainly different.

I totally agree with you here. In fact I used the questions to show how you can't just chose one over the other, as context matters, the target audience you are serving matters. "Great Experience" is something subjective to the target audience, just like you mentioned! Thank you for your wonderful comment :D
