I decided I wanted to be a "software developer" when I was in middle school and was 12/13, and I took an "IT" class that consisted mainly of learning how to use Microsoft office products.

From there I realized "computers are the future" and started to look more into possible degrees in "IT". While reading up on "IT" from wikipedia, I found "Computer Science" which I found to be fascinating, along with having good pay, and potential moving forward. I decided that would be my major then on out.

I got specifically into software development/engineering only once I was in college and realized building software is much more than just writing code.
