To me, a big part of design and architecture is trying to see things ahead of time. That's why I like the analogy of driving a car. If you're traveling at a fast speed, you're missing details on so many things. It doesn't matter how good your eyes are, you just can't see everything. Our eyes have limits.
On the flip side, slowing down allows you to see things ahead of time, avoid running into things that jump out in front of you, and study the details as you get closer.
