I guess the fast pace society we live in forcing most of us to value immediate answers. And the nature of people like ego, insecurity, will hinder open conversations. A very open idea is very likely to come along with very aggressive opposition if one is not careful to bring it forward.
Yes you touch on one of t underlying reasons - people want to make decisions quickly (for a variety of reasons) but it’s a short term gain - they don’t learn or grow.
