## STANDARDIZE Function – Description:

• This function returns the normalized value based on the mean and standard deviation.
• You can find the standard deviation of a set of input values using the STDEV function.
• To find the mean of the given input values, use the AVERAGE function.
• The equation to find the normalized value is as follows.

## Syntax:

=STANDARDIZE(x, mean, standard_dev)

### Arguments Explanation:

x – The input value that you need to normalize.

Mean – It is the arithmetic mean of the distribution.

Standard_dev – It is the standard deviation of the distribution.

### Note:

• If the standard_dev is less than or equal to 0 and then this function returns the #NUM! Error.
• If any of the arguments are non-numeric values such as letters and symbols and then this function returns #VALUE! Error.

### Example 1:

• In the below screenshot, you can be able to see the input range in Column C , and its mean value is given in Cell F2 , the standard_dev value is given in Cell F3.

### Example 2:

• If the standard_dev is less than or equal to 0 and then this function returns the #NUM! Error.

### Example 3:
