**STANDARDIZE Function – Description:**

- This function
**returns the normalized value based on the mean and standard deviation**. - You can find the standard deviation of a set of input values using the
**STDEV function**. - To find the mean of the given input values, use the
**AVERAGE****function**. - The equation to find the normalized value is as follows.

## Syntax:

**=STANDARDIZE(x, mean, standard_dev)**

### Arguments Explanation:

**x –** The input value that you need to normalize.

**Mean –** It is the arithmetic mean of the distribution.

**Standard_dev –** It is the standard deviation of the distribution.

### Note:

- If the standard_dev is less than or equal to 0 and then this function returns the
**#NUM! Error**. - If any of the arguments are non-numeric values such as
**letters**and**symbols**and then this function returns**#VALUE! Error**.

**Column C**, and its**mean**value is given in**Cell F2**, the**standard_dev**value is given in**Cell F3**.

### Example 3:

- If any of the arguments are non-numeric values such as
**letters**and**symbols**and then this function returns**#VALUE! Error**.
