Stop with the emojis. It looks very childish and unprofessional. Emojis donβt add any value to a tutorial, they are just a distraction for the reader.
Your colleagues must be very happy with you on your team.
βCould you please not do that in the future?β
βF*ck you, no one is forcing you to work with me!β
Yeah, youβre going to be a great person to work with, Dominik.
My point is: donβt twist things around. I actually WANT to read the article for the information in it. I want the information in my brain. Donβt you get that?
I'm a friendly, non-dev, cisgender guy from NC who enjoys playing music/making noise, hiking, eating veggies, and hanging out with my best friend/wife + our 3 kitties + 1 greyhound.
I'm a Community Manager at DEV and just wanted to remind everybody to keep it friendly here.
It's fine that Harry doesn't like emojis β the way that criticism was voiced focused on the writing itself and is constructive, without being too insulting. That said, I would personally recommend balancing the bluntness of that statement with some sort of positive feedback too β to me, it does come off as a bit rude.
It's also fine for Dominik to counter that opinion and let us know that they approve of the emojis. However, I don't think the right answer is to suggest to Harry that they don't have to comment.
And on the flip, from this one interaction, I definitely don't think we should assume and suggest that Dominik is dropping f-bombs to their colleagues.
Anyway, just please keep kindness at the forefront. If you disagree on things or offer criticism, it's totally fine, but just try to do so empathetically!

@harrybawsac I think they are adding value. No one is forcing you to read this article anyway.
Your colleagues must be very happy with you on your team.
