I'm an ex-sysadmin from the late 20th century.
These days I do more Javascript and CSS and whatnot, and promote UX and accessibility.
Lunch was ok! Lots of little pastries and things. I think that because we got tickets as a group I didn't get asked if I had any dietary requirements, though.
There were a couple of really good tech talks. Rachel Andrew gave a very good breakdown of how and why we should be using particular layouts which was probably my favourite from a technical point of view. I might write a separate post about the content of the conference though.
Thanks for sharing, sounds like the conference was a good experience and opportunity to meet some nice folk outside of the day job.
I really like the idea of a different coloured lanyard for those who prefer not to be photographed, seems so simple.
