I can find much more arguments why I should prefer eBooks over paperbacks: smaller, cheaper, carry multiple books, can instantly buy books, searchable, background lighting ...
However, I often get back to reading paperbacks. I think the layout is a main reason: paperbacks are consciously layouted. You also can see more content at once and especially illustrations are much better in paperbacks.
Therefore, I prefer reading books with illustrations as a paperback and all other as eBooks.
I read a lot of manga and comics (Yup). So I do appreciate the layout on paperback cause scrolling through pages doesn't sit well well with such material
