So people will be able to play more games in WSL but not other "genuine" desktop linux. Doesn't sound like a big deal to me. People kind of already play more games on Windows than desktop Linux anyway.
Microsoft's business practices helped IE only so far. Chrome and Firefox still grabbed the bulk of the market share simply because they stick to the open standards better and in general their other technical merits.
