My Second Year @ Hacktoberfest

Disclaimer: This post is written with the help of AI.

Hey everyone! I’m excited to participate in Hacktoberfest for the second year in a row. For those of you who are new to this event, Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open-source projects, their maintainers, and the entire community of contributors. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, gain professional experience, and make meaningful contributions to the open-source community.

I’ve been working in the field for over 8 years, and I can say with confidence that Sitecore is the only company that has allowed me and even encouraged me to work on Hacktoberfest. As someone who is passionate about open-source development, I find it incredibly motivating to work for a company that values this kind of work.

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing my goals for this year’s Hacktoberfest and some tips on how to make the most out of this event. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting with open-source development, I hope that my experiences and insights will help you get started and make the most out of this event.

So without further ado, let’s dive in!

My goals for this year

I’m planning to contribute to The Algorithms Repository. This repository provides implementations and explanations for various algorithms, making it a great resource for anyone interested in computer science and programming. I discovered this repository last year during Hacktoberfest, and I was impressed by the quality of the code and the helpfulness of the community.

Last year, I worked on some math algorithms to freshen up my math skills. This year, I want to take it a step further and focus on cryptographic algorithms such as paddings, cyphers, and hash functions. Cryptography is an important field that has many real-world applications, and by contributing to TheAlgorithms repository, I hope to learn more about this fascinating area of algorithms. I’m excited to challenge myself and take my skills to the next level. By working on cryptographic algorithms, I’ll be facing the double whammy of advanced math and binary operators. But that is not all. The third challenge is to manage and shed some light on a quite obscure and fascinating area of algorithms and make it easier for people to understand what is going on under the hood.

Conclusion

I think that this event is a great way to learn new things, improve your skills, and contribute to the open-source community. I encourage you to join me and thousands of other developers in this celebration of open-source projects. You can find more information about Hacktoberfest and how to participate on their official website.

If you’re interested in The Algorithms Repository, you can check it out on GitHub. You can also find other repositories for different programming languages and topics on their organization page. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to leave a comment or open an issue on the repository. The maintainers and the community are very friendly and helpful.
