This is something I see a lot of times when people talks about Electron, but I simply can't think just the opposite when hearing this. I mean, The developer will actually be stuck at they knowledge about what he's developing, without actually acknowledging that he is working in a completely different platform from the web. Not caring about the performance that the user will get is completely abstract the developer from the platform he is launching the product on. It won't get stuck in the web is just for the fact that It will develop a desktop app but really, is just that, the developer doesn't really have any control over it.

Electron is a great way for JS developers not to get stuck with just the web.
