Thanks for the write up, there's lots to take away from that. When quarantining began my company pivoted to doing online events, though not asynchronous ones. We settled on 'point and click' rooms to allow a feeling of moving through physical space but added more traditional web UI elements to allow information to be easily obtained. I'd be interested to look into allowing live chat within those rooms I think that would add a lot of value, provided the event had a few people attending at the same time.
