When we joined the Code with Kiro Hackathon, our goal was simple: create something fun, impactful, and powered by Kiro’s AI-first development workflow. That’s how FanQuest was born — a subscription-based platform where fans earn monthly points and redeem them for exclusive items or experiences from their favorite creators.
Why FanQuest?
The creator economy is booming, but fan engagement often feels shallow. Likes and comments are nice, but they don’t always translate into meaningful connections. We wanted to change that — by introducing a points-driven economy that makes fandom interactive, rewarding, and fun.
How Kiro Helped Us Build Faster
Kiro was our development partner.
Spec-to-code: We wrote natural language specs like “When a fan subscribes, allocate 100 points monthly and log the transaction”. Kiro turned that into working endpoints, data models, and UI scaffolding — instantly.
Agent hooks: We automated repetitive workflows, from CRUD for creator shops to role-based access checks. Less boilerplate, more creativity.
Vibe coding: We brainstormed directly with Kiro, iterating on features like the subscription-to-points system and creator checkout flow. It felt like pair programming with an AI teammate.
The result? We shipped a working MVP faster than we thought possible.
- Designing a balanced points economy.
- Syncing Stripe subscriptions with Appwrite users.
- Onboarding ourselves into Kiro’s unique development style.
But with Kiro’s help, we solved these faster than we could have with traditional coding alone.
What We Learned
- Small, clear specs make AI-assisted development extremely reliable.
- Automating boilerplate frees time for design and UX decisions.
- Kiro is a new way of building software.
What’s Next for FanQuest
We’re expanding FanQuest with quests, streaks, and digital collectibles. Our long-term vision is to empower creators everywhere with a gamified fan economy — built on a foundation we could only create this quickly thanks to Kiro.
