The tale of my journey with Aya

THE TALE OF MY JOURNEY WITH AYA SO FAR
Sometimes ago, somewhere else in my chrome browser interphase was an invitation bidding me to apply for a web3 fellowship. I hesitate not to click on the link because in a long while I have been in search of a path to the tech space without finding any reasonable one, but this day came an opportunity that promises to address my desire.
Every now and then I heard a lot about the internet and the web, but little did I know about them not until their details was expounded to me as I engage with Aya’s team. In a short while I will take out time to talk about my experiences and few of the many things I had gained. meanwhile let me give a big shout out to Aya and Coinbase for this intervention which could have come at no better time.
It has been fantastic learning from these guys who demonstrated expertly and altruistically that they have all it takes to champion technology development in Africa. Their exemplary show of commitment and passion has spawn me to demand more from myself, to upskill and level up. The fellowship brings me into a new community and create a platform for me to meet new people. “Something I will not take for granted”

In addition to the immersive experiences, my knowledge was pretty much impacted and now I have a sense of direction and the requisite information to make inform decision in this career. All thanks to Aya who set the compass for me. I learn so many things which include the technical and some non-technical soft skills that will help me a great deal going forward as follows:
EVOLUTION OF THE WEB

The early phase of the web solves the problem of electronic transmission of information, which happen to support only unidirectional transfer of text data. The advent of web2 incorporated with batteries of functionalities enables a bidirectional exchange of various data form ranging from a simple text file to a complex multimedia form of data. With all these arrays of functionality and historical changes in human communication and socialization it championed, web2 is not without its own limitation. It has been known for data breaches and insecurity. Moreso as various needs such as exchange of money and asset, trust issues in digital deals arises, web2 performances leaves more to be desired, hence the emergence of the web3 technology. The web3 holds promises to solve myriad of problems, in business, education, health, governance, politics, value exchange/commerce, to mention but a few and many areas of human endeavors where trust has been a challenge. Though not yet fully explore the early phase have unraveled a world of opportunity and technology dividends to be desired, engendering needs that beckon input from talents from all walks of life to ensure full exploration of the humongous potential of this web3. A journey that African talents must not take the back seat.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
I was introduced to html and CSS. A thorough drill on these tools provides me the basic knowledge required to build and style a static web page. In addition to the aforementioned, this story will not be complete without the mention of JavaScript. With practical examples I was introduce to variable in JavaScript, data types, function and control follow. This enables me to understand the technology behind a dynamic web page. Version control and knowledge of software development lifecycle are also among the essential knowledge that help further consolidate my foundation in the fellowship.
SOFT SKILLS
The fellowship affords me the opportunity to learn some non-technical skills that foster career growth and development in tech. these skills relate to how one work and how they can be adopted for excellent performance. They include Adaptability, Interpersonal skills, Communication skills, listening skills, Time management, Problem solving skills, Leadership, Empathy, Team work, Work ethic, Critical thinking, among others.
In conclusion, the foundational phase of Aya web3 fellowship program equipped me with the foundational knowledge and tools that will foster my journey as an aspiring backend developer. The journey was really a daunting one but we were never at any time left without a guide as our program associate are never out of reach.
