my goal here is to receive and completely blow off at least 5 angry comments. -- Nice one! Reminds me of the sales technique of trying to get, say, 50 rejections. It won't necessarily make the individual act of rejection (or trolling) any less painful ... but at least it gives you a different way to frame it.

Having some experience in sales for my practice/businesses, I love that comparison. It's very much similar. I despise cold outreach, and no part of the sales process is my favorite, so I've always very much gamified it in the sense that "the math says if I do this 50 times, I'll get a success."

I've not done enough of the sales side (I should do more), but I imagine that's the only way to stay sane.

One of the sad things about trolling is that it's an act of complete self-sabotage. I mean, how can someone create something worthwhile if they're too busy tearing other people apart? Not to mention the negative effects it must have on their mindset.
