Great story Rob! It's great to see a different way to think and talk about business. Bruce Lee was my hero while growing up. I remember staying awake late at night and sneaking out of my bed to watch his movies!
I gained most from the Stoic philosophy, more specifically, from looking at life with the knowledge that external events have an effect on us only if we let them. In another word: it's not important what happens, the thing that matters is the meaning that we give to that event.
Thanks Nikolic, and totally agree: how we interpret and handle events is way more significant than the event itself. I'm going to try and be more mindful of that myself!
