This would have been GOLD when I was looking for jobs in Japan starting in 2013.
I did end up getting 4 offers throughout my time there
Ericsson Japan (Yokohama) - worked there 1 year before they decided to move the team to Spain
KVH (doesn't exist anymore) - decided to work at IBM instead
IBM Japan (Tokyo) - worked there 1 year before moving to NYC
Rakuten (Tokyo) - decided to take a job in NYC instead
I had a great time. There are a lot of foreigners working in software in Japan. And the jobs I was offered were on English speaking teams. It was also really great to meet native Japanese and learn more about them and their culture.
Someone I recently started following on Twitter twitter.com/TuttiQ is also on DEV @tuttiq
(and just now I noticed you work at Mercari, so you probably know her!). Small world, lots of opportunities for devs. Thanks for your post, it will help a lot of people!
