how would php and js compare if we were to look at one metric alone - the computing cost over time, meaning how much electricity is being used in both cases plus all the hidden costs like taxes on dirty sources of electricity production, etc. for serving different kinds of data to users?
I've seen google tech people talk about the potential cost savings if we were to remove all bloated code like included polyfills for ie11, etc. but i'm sure there's more thatn just that. over time, there has to be a gigantic cost in running 50,000+ lines of js to have hello world appear on screen vs running on php file that does the same job.
