"I Want to Learn Programming, But Doubts Are Holding Me Back"

Hello everyone,
I’ve always wanted to become a programmer, and I’m willing to put in the effort.
However, sometimes I worry that it might not just be about hard work.
What if programming is meant for people who have a natural talent for problem-solving or creativity?
I’m trying to stay motivated, but I still have doubts about whether this is for me.
I’m determined to keep going, and I believe with enough dedication, I can make progress.
Does anyone else feel this way or have advice to offer?
Thanks in advance for your input!

I think anyone can become a programmer if they want to and enjoy that type of work. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t even need to be good at math. What you really need is the willingness to try—only then will you know if it's right for you.

Be honest to yourself: Why do you want to learn programming?

  • money & employment?
  • fun & creative outlet?
  • want to get something done that nobody else does?

Any reason is a good reason & never forget this reason and the goals you set yourself.

Also accept that there will be a lot of failings, nobody was perfect from the start and a natural talent is a myth. If you struggle with this, then you should consider asking someone to coach you, because then it will be hard for you to learn any skill on your own.

What programming meant for me is a way to get something done to help the company I worked for or to get good grades in school. I don't code for the sake of coding or because I'm good at it.
I don't really care what tech stack it is, I just want to get things done.

General advice I can give is:
Try to use your brain every time. Don't look things up right away. Don't let an AI do everything for you.
