It is super cool to hear about more open source IoT projects. The free projects are kinda reinventing software. IMHO, right now I just like reading about them because the hardware supply chain is facing an undercurrent. That means developer hardware like an AWS IoT button are out of stock. Maybe the IoT button is an analogy worth discussing. Here's what I'm thinking. I'm somewhat adjusting my approach to IoT because it's feel safe to experiment with though I just don't know how to prepare to go further than an experiment when the hardware might to be accessible to future users because of the temporary out of stock situation. I kinda feel like a software projects health is going to be affected by the accessibility of the hardware it operates. I'm asking myself which open source project is affected by this year's unavailability and which one isn't because it affects which one to tinker with for fun.
