As a long time cli dev (an occasional gui here and there) I see web apps (and mobile devices) as a very, very last resort. Then again I don't program for money or normal users (normal users are welcome to use my tools, of course ). I know many languages, but now I stick to AutoHotkey in Windows (yes, one of the most hated and yet most powerful scripting languages in existence) , Python, Fortran, C++, and most recently in the last few years: Rust; especially for it's contained lib dependencies for better portabilty.

Always appreciate a different point of view. 🤗
