What I learned from this is if I don't want more things to do tech support for, I shouldn't give my mother/grandmother app-enabled appliances. Because gods know that if it requires that sort of care, they won't be doing it. This is aside from the fact that an app-enabled appliances are a stupid idea, just make a thing that does its job. That's all it needs to be.
