Great article, Vesa. I didn't know about Server Side Includes, when I began my life on the web people where flinging PHP left and right already. I love the simplicity of simply editing files via SFTP and refreshing prod, it reminds me of the good old days 👴🏼
Is there a main benefit of using SSI include instead of PHP's?

My best shot: you're almost guaranteed to not over-architecture your site :D Having a fully fledged programming language has it's dangers. And maybe you can find yourself being creative when limited to a very simple tool that SSI is.
