How I Handle HEIC Images on Windows Without Installing Extra Software

Windows still doesn’t natively support HEIC files in many workflows, especially when you’re moving assets between iPhone and PC.
When I receive HEIC images from clients or teammates, my workflow is simple:

My Process

  1. - Drag the HEIC file into my working folder
  2. - Convert it to PNG using a lightweight web tool 👉 https://heictopng.net
  3. - Move the PNG version into my design or documentation pipeline

Why I Prefer This Approach

  • Avoid installing HEIC codecs
  • PNG works seamlessly in editors, docs, and bug reports
  • Same workflow across different computers

It’s a small step, but it saves time when dealing with mixed-device environments.
