Windows still doesn’t natively support HEIC files in many workflows, especially when you’re moving assets between iPhone and PC.
When I receive HEIC images from clients or teammates, my workflow is simple:
My Process
- - Drag the HEIC file into my working folder
- - Convert it to PNG using a lightweight web tool 👉 https://heictopng.net
- - Move the PNG version into my design or documentation pipeline
Why I Prefer This Approach
- Avoid installing HEIC codecs
- PNG works seamlessly in editors, docs, and bug reports
- Same workflow across different computers
It’s a small step, but it saves time when dealing with mixed-device environments.
