How to Setup an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) XML URL in TiviMate and Smarters
An accurate Electronic Program Guide (EPG) transforms a raw list of streaming channels into a full-featured television experience with program descriptions, air times, and catch-up access.
What is an XMLTV EPG?
An XMLTV EPG is a compressed XML document (.xml or .xml.gz) containing channel IDs, show titles, start/end timestamps, and synopsis data.
Configuring EPG in TiviMate
- Open TiviMate and go to Settings → EPG.
- Select EPG Sources → Add Source.
- Enter your EPG URL (e.g.
http://server.com/epg.xml.gz). - Set Update Interval to Every 24 Hours or On App Startup.
- Go back to Playlists → Select your active playlist → Link the EPG source.
EPG Time Offset Correction
If show schedules appear an hour early or late:
- In TiviMate: Go to Settings → EPG → Time Offset → Adjust by
+1or-1hour according to your local time zone.
