Application Form:
The first part of the application consists of basic personal information which needs to be provided.
The second part includes the statement of purpose. As I have mentioned in my earlier articles, Your write-up is the face of your whole life which you have to summarize in just 100 words. (This is no joke). So mention briefly the personal and social benefits that you are going to get from the conference. Also, try to add on some of your personal experience which inspired you to get into such an event.
The second question is about your technical skill which might play a very important role in your selection process. Make sure to give all your relevant contributions along with their link to the codebase or hosted URL. Try to categorize the technical fields for convenience. (exp. keep Web Development track different from Image Processing). Provide details about any hackathon or competition you participated in or your research work and internship experience. Also, make sure to mention your volunteering experience or provide a link to your blog profile_(if any)._ This might create a greater impact on the reviewer as it throws light upon your community involvement and your urge to help other people in your community.
The video testimonial is optional but it might play the trick. Here is your one chance to create an impression by giving a better introduction to your personality and what makes you so very interested in technology. Link your real-life experience to your explanation and trust me its gonna be so lively and heart touching. So make sure to make a handful use of this option and give a brief but strong motive to the reviewer. You can use platforms like YouTube or Dropbox for the same. Dont be shy, its just a video.
Your proof of student status might be a photo/scanned copy of your valid Student ID, clearly showing your name, academic institution and photograph.
There is a provision of giving 1- 2 recommendations of any faculty of your choice. Providing with 2 recommendations is ideally suggested.
So, here you go with the Scholarship application. The conference helped me in many ways and I met some extremely talented individuals and friends who are very close to my heart now. Apart from this, the conference landed me with an opportunity with my dream company. Well, we will talk about that part in a later article. Till then, the deadline to submit your scholarship application is June 21, 2019. So, hurry up girls!!!
All the best :-)
