I wonder if anyone else here has the so called 'scanner personality', which means that you are curious about a lot of things and get bored once you understood all the underlying concepts of a topic. I feel like the society still goes more in the direction 'pick one job and that's it', but why not combine multiple careers? For me Software Engineering already is my second career. Before getting into software I've been a: Cameraman, Video Editor, Circus Technician, Cook, Farm Worker, Driver, English Teacher, Sailor, Acro Yoga Instructor, Slackline Retail and services... amongst other things.
I've only been in the software world for 3~4 years now, and I'd say the ever changing nature of it kind of keeps me on my toes. I also feel like I could go deeper and deeper in many aspects of software and explore other fields within the field for at least 2-3 lifetimes.
But, yeah, the occasional desire to go start a farm or whatever does get a hold of me every now and then. I think it's normal. If you're here, you're curious.

The phrase "jack of of all trades, master of none" comes to mind.
There is value in aiming to master something and, even after achieving mastery in that something, still realizing there is even more to understanding it. Others may only ever grasp the concept but deep-diving grants knowledge few will attain.
Software pervades every aspect of our lives. It is there to support us in our endeavors across every industry and those who can code can make things that simplify their own lives. The coder can write a script to do something specific and automate processes while the non-coder has to put together a hodge-podge of inefficient tools that someone else made that does the same thing but is far less elegant and usually involves manual labor.
Hi, yes there is definitely a lot of value in becoming a master of a subject! But combining different subjects is very powerful as well. đ
If I didn't have Keep to bookmark links (and Trello when Keep checklists grow unwieldy for categorizing those links and taking further action), my laptop and my phone would both grind to a halt from open tabs (even with The Great Suspender installed on the former).
This applies to single projects I'm working on, let alone when I start "scanning" other ideas.
Vivaldi, a Chromium-based browser, lets you manage thousands of tabs. It's designed for the tab hoarder.
Last I checked, Vivaldi hates native Linux window decorations. Nitpick, but it drives me nuts.

Yeah, I try create Internet of things, every concept are relationship, in my house in this moment I'm try using a raspberry pie for create a intelligent house and care my garden but is difficult, utilize sensor for to measure light(physic) and measure the pH(chemistry) in the plants(botanic) but, I thing that every day I'm person very ignorant in each subject, I try used my ability in software for learn other subject :). and you what is your focus?
This sounds like a useful project you can learn a lot from! đ đ Yes I also think the developers analytic mindset surely helps to pick up new subjects quickly. At the moment I feel fulfilled by writing and filming about what I learn and studying. Im also interested in physics but right now I don't have the brain capacity for it cause I need to relax when I don't study. đ
Software development is what I want to relish. But I have always fancied how I could use my CS stuff with Physics. Is there a scope in Quantum Physics. I think I want to explore Physics, without saying goodbyes to s.development.
Hi Prakhar, that's a great idea! Quantum computing is a great merge between CS and physics. The most fascinating part for me is quantum teleportation. đ€©
