Hahaha! I agree with you completely. I see robots more as partners than job‑takers. They’ll help us handle physical work that pushes beyond human limits, and they can take on dangerous tasks that put people at risk at the end.

Optimistic piece - I just wonder if this will again mainly be a "First World" thing, as developing countries (Third World) lack the money to invest in this AND have plenty of cheap labor (meaning it makes less economic sense) ...
The potential benefits are huge though, especially if you combine this with nano tech and 3 D printing, and with the idea of robots designing and building themselves ...
But as always, "potential" benefits are just that: potential - it takes a lot for that potential to be realized ...
I agree with you that both Western countries will have the resources to invest in robotics. The developing countries face serious challenges with the lack of investments and the resources. Still, I’m optimistic about robotics and emerging technologies. With the right investments in infrastructure, education, and sustained support, people in the developing world can thrive.
The point is that some countries are so far behind, people even lack the barest necessities - imagine that every morning you need to walk two hours to fill a bucket with water at the nearest well, to mention an extreme (but realistic) example - could robotics help with even those kind of problems? I'm a bit afraid that the developed countries will get even more developed, and the underdeveloped ones will stay like that ... but, who knows!
You made a valid point but we can't predict the future. We invest more money in education for rural region in the developing countries that robotics is beneficial with their society such as farming. I am optimistic about the situation. It is how we use robots to benefits society. It is important to put in place policies and procedures that people don't abuse power with robotics technology such as robotics war machine that existed already.
Yeah I'd like to be optimistic as well, but come countries/regions are so incredibly far behind - anyway, I guess those are a bit of outliers, and shouldn't be looked at as the norm or the standard ...
