Hi, I’m Brian Austin and I am a software architect. I’ve spent the last ten years working with web services and back-end data processing and integrations for small to medium sized businesses.
I earned a B.S. in Management Information Systems. Long before, I began my coding adventure by transcribing BASIC programs from 3-2-1 Contact magazine into an IBM “luggable”. Later I mastered the art of customizing DOS Telix scripts and mIRC chat bots. During my college years I built websites that worked in both Netscape and Internet Explorer.
These days I’m focused on building RESTful microservices in the cloud, primarily in Java and .Net. I’ve also constructed a few serverless AWS Lambda functions and APIs in Node.Js. When I’m not coding I’m mentoring developers, setting up CI/CD pipelines and training the team in DevOps practices. I’m most often heard saying things like “have you checked the wiki” and “there’s a keyboard macro for that.”
