hey did u guys see Stripe just bought OpenRouter for 7 billion dollars
that's insane. OpenRouter was literally called the Stripe of AI. routing calls to 400+ models. and now actual Stripe owns it.
i work on something similar at Megallm. model routing, auth, switching between providers. so this one hits different for me.
big question tho. will they keep it neutral? like will Claude, Gemini, Llama still get equal treatment? or does Stripe start playing favorites?
also 46 percent of enterprise tokens on OpenRouter were going to Chinese AI models. that's gonna be a regulatory nightmare now that an American payments giant owns the pipe.
what do u guys think. smart move or just consolidation?
