Gaming has never been more social, yet the social experience around gaming remains fragmented.
Players discover games in one place, communicate somewhere else, share content on another platform, and build communities across countless different services. We believe there is an opportunity to bring these experiences closer together.
That’s why we’re building Clannect, a gamified social media platform designed specifically for gamers.
What is Clannect?
Clannect combines familiar social media experiences with systems inspired by games.
Users can connect with other gamers, share posts and videos, communicate through direct and group messages, join communities, customize their profiles and avatars, complete quests, earn XP, level up, and compete on leaderboards.
The goal isn't simply to add game mechanics to social media.
We want progression and identity to become a natural part of the social experience.
Building a New Category
We call this category Gamified Social Media.
Traditional social platforms are primarily built around content and engagement. Games are built around progression, goals, competition, and identity.
Clannect sits between these ideas.
We want users to feel that being active on the platform itself is an experience worth progressing through.
Building the Ecosystem
Our vision extends beyond a social platform.
We're working toward a broader gaming ecosystem involving creators, developers, studios, and players.
Our plans include a growing Creator Economy, developer services, publishing opportunities, marketplaces, APIs, our own games, and additional technologies built around gaming.
Our new Cubes economy is one of the first steps toward that vision, creating a foundation for digital goods and creator-driven experiences within Clannect.
Where We Are Today
Clannect is still early.
We're actively improving the platform, listening to our users, experimenting with new systems, and figuring out what the future of social gaming should look like.
There is still a huge amount to build.
But that's what makes this stage exciting.
We're not trying to simply build another social network for gamers. We're trying to build an entirely new kind of social experience around gaming.
This is just the beginning.
